Solar Storm could disrupt Electricity and Communications.
Wonder how well-prepared - or otherwise - the electricity, entertainment/news(??), transport, telecommunications and other electronics-dependent companies are for the adverse effects of a SOLAR STORM, similar to the one that occurred in 1858?
Oh yes, don't forget that your own toilet is utterly dependent on a well-functioning sewerage treatment plant which is now electronically controlled. A severe solar storm won't be just astronomical - it is likely to be downright personal.

Re: Solar Storm could disrupt Electricity and Communications.
We've had a few predictions of solar storms disrupting electricity over the past few years but none of them have come to anything. I remember clearly one prediction that convinced me the world was going to come to a sudden stop, and I was kinda disappopinted whenit didn't happen.
